Pediatrics
Ensuring that a pregnant mother maintains a healthy gut and vaginal microflora is critical to the overall health of the developing baby in the womb, the neonate and the infant in the early years of life.
A growing body of clinical evidence now supports probiotic supplementation not only for pregnant mothers but also for neonates. Evidence has demonstrated that probiotic supplementation helps reduce the risk of neonatal sepsis and other neonatal infections.
There is growing evidence to suggest that intestinal flora in Colicky infants differs from those in healthy infants, and it is suggested that probiotics can redress this balance and provide a healthier intestinal microbiota landscape. Probiotics also present a potential prophylactic solution to reduce the incidence and prevalence of infantile colic.
There is also evidence that the maternal gut microflora affects mothers milk and provides for a healthier nutritious meal for breastfeeding babies.
We present to you in this section, clinical publications revolving around our range of probiotics in pediatrics and underlining their utility in this special population.
